Vaccination milestone reached
While the COVID-19 vaccination rates continue to rise at the Port’s two major vaccine hubs – Nelson Plaza Clinic in Stockton Street and the Raymond Terrace Respiratory Clinic operated by the Raymond Terrace Family Practice located in Jacaranda Avenue – there remains a great shortage of Pfizer vaccines available.

Alternative supplies of Sanitiser
Anna Davidson develops supply chain for sanitiser during pandemic. It was two months ago that alarm bells started ringing for Anna Davidson, when she tried to order hand sanitiser for the GP super-clinic she manages, but could not source it from anywhere around the globe.
Slow vaccine rollout
Anna Davidson laughs down the phone when asked how the Covid-19 vaccine rollout is going at her clinic in Port Stephens, in New South Wales’s Hunter region.
Then she asks if she can beat her head against the wall. In a frenetic 10-day period last month, her clinic spent $25,000 transforming itself into a potential Covid-19 vaccination powerhouse for the region.
AstraZeneca Vaccine arrives
Nelson Plaza Clinic, which spent significant time and money gearing up for the vaccine roll-out, has had its number of vaccines increased from 50 to 150 a week.
“While this is still shy of the 2,500 a week we originally asked for, it is better than the previous amount, and we hope this number will continue to increase. Our bookings are open with only a couple days waiting period.” said Dr Alex Richardson.
